At least once a year, if not more, salons will have to increase their prices to keep up with the cost of living. This is never easy and all the more challenging in a cash-strapped world that is still recovering from the Covid economy. The most pressing questions are – when do you increase your prices and by how much? Luckily, in this issue of Salon International, we have a very useful article on this very topic that should impart some useful pointers to salon owners. One such pointer is that news of a price increase should always be shared with clients well in advance. The article also points out that clients are generally more receptive to price increases on salon retail items, as they are used to prices regularly going up when they shop for general goods and food.

The recent Hollywood awards season provided a feast for the eyes in terms of red carpet hair styles. On our news pages you will find reports from three huge awards events, namely the Oscars (the Holy Grail of film awards), the Baftas (the British equivalent of the Oscars), and the music industry’s biggest gathering – the Grammys.
