It’s a new year and the Salon International Magazine is back! Firstly, may I wish all our readers the best possible year with lots of lovely and exciting adventures in hairdressing. Secondly, while our magazine was put on hold during the Covid pandemic, it’s now time for us to re-enter the fray with gusto and enthusiasm. This is easier said than done, considering that the whole country is in the grips of a seemingly never-ending electricity crisis. However, when the going gets tough…the tough make a plan and so the industry will endure.
There are all manner of topics covered in this issue of Salon International, from how to make the most of social media marketing, to a trailblazing barber shop franchise, to a debate on virtual hair consultations, to what the pros think of cheap online shampoo trends, to stripy highlights, colour flashes and super balayages.
As visuals are always so important in the dynamic and creative world of hairdressing, we have included in this issue a strong focus on pictorials of eye-popping colours and styles, from which you will no doubt draw inspiration. Importantly, Salon International would absolutely love to feature more work from local hairdressers, so please do send in your images for consideration to me at joanna@ professionalbeauty.org.za
Enjoy the read!
